Tending to all of your personal care needs with dignity and respect.
Care for elderly or infirm service users is a responsibility we never take lightly. Every qualified assistant and registered nurse on our staff appreciates the need for their specific skills to be matched to a service user. And this is why we separate out personal care duties from others that our staff may carry out as a matter of course while they are in your home.
Personal care can include :-
- Dressing and undressing
- Shaving and other grooming duties
- Anything else that involves a more hands-on approach
Personal care for elderly, convalescing or disabled service users may be the sole responsibility of the person that we send to you, or could be incorporated within their wider duties.
For instance, if you care for elderly relatives and have requested our domiciliary service to look after their needs, the staff member we send will happily take on light housework duties such as cooking and cleaning or help them to the shops, but will not be able to assist with anything of a more personal nature. This can be remedied with a simple phone call, but the division between personal care and practical support is necessary to ensure that the right carer with the right experience is sent to your home.
The compassionate and friendly nature of all of our carers means they quickly build close bonds with those they look after, and this is certainly a major reason why so many service users continue to use ANA Nursing year after year.
