Our palliative care aims to provide clients with a dignified and comfortable environment.
End of life care is a difficult subject to discuss, but the end does come to us all sooner or later, and all we can hope for is that when it comes we’ll have people around us that will make the experience less traumatic if that’s possible.
The purpose of palliative care is for our staff to create a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere for our client and for the friends and family who will wish to visit during this challenging time.
The aim is to soothe away anxieties and pains, and this is achieved through
- Nursing support – to administer medication, monitor your condition and assess whether further specialist assistance is required.
- Personal hygiene and personal care – to ensure that your dignity is maintained at all times and you are as comfortable as possible.
- Companionship – the emotional support of having someone there to talk to is invaluable to those who would otherwise feel cut off from the world.
Palliative care is one of the more demanding roles our staff undertake and only the most experienced will be sent to look after you in these circumstances.
