Dementia Care
ANA Nursing offers the finest dementia care to service users in their own homes throughout London.
Because dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a variety of brain disorders we understand that everyone’s dementia care needs are different.
- Disorientation – one of the most common symptoms of dementia is confusion about time, and who those around them are. This can be quite frightening and requires calm and patient support from someone who understands how this often progressive condition affects the mind.
- Vulnerability – often accompanying memory loss will be a feeling of anxiety and nervousness. Such emotions need to be countered with reassurance and support at all times to instil a sense of safety and security.
- Health and wellbeing – they say healthy body, healthy mind, so any dementia care should include time to go for a walk or attend a swimming class. Our staff know that feeling energised can do wonders for a positive mental attitude to life.
- Maintaining a sense of identity – a connection with anything that they used to enjoy is essential for anyone with dementia. Whether it’s a trip to the cinema, meeting with friends or shopping for clothes, our staff are there to help.
There are of course many others symptoms that those with dementia have to live with and our carers and registered nurses are trained to offer the specialist assistance that this condition demands in all of its many forms.
