We are where we are thanks to the efforts of our caring staff.
We know that our agency’s excellent reputation throughout London is largely down to the calibre of every single one of the care assistants we have on our staff. We are immensely proud of the level of support they afford our clients and, with the help of a rigorous selection process and a programme of ongoing training, we do our utmost to ensure this quality is maintained.
We thought we’d take a moment to explain how the care assistants who’ll look after your needs are selected so you can see how we choose only the best to work for ANA Nursing.
The Interview
Every candidate is interviewed by a member of our in-house recruitment staff to ensure that they have not only the experience but also the aptitude for the job. It’s so important to our agency that we only take on care assistants with naturally friendly, respectful and warm personalities because we know that they will be representing us in your home.
Background Checks
Those who pass our interview stage will be thoroughly checked to ensure they are right for our agency. We gather references from previous employers, confirm their identities and conduct police/CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks, all in accordance with our strict recruitment guidelines.
Mandatory Training
Once interviewed and checked, those who we still feel have the right potential will be required to undergo our two week training course, half of which is spent in a classroom the rest supervised in a residential home. At the end of this they will be expected to pass a written exam.
Only those who pass all three stages and the final exam will be offered a position within our agency.
Qualifications and Ongoing Training
We actively encourage all our care assistants to study towards an NVQ in Health and Social Care to ensure that their skills and knowledge are constantly updated. Currently more than 70% of them are doing just that with the help of our in-house training team who run regular study days.
Of course all nursing staff are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council to ensure consistent quality of service.
So you see we go to great lengths to ensure that all our care assistants are qualified, competent and kind-hearted. We also feel that it’s important for our office staff and management to exude these same qualities. So no matter whether you’re calling for information, advice or to book one of our care assistants, you will find that your needs come first in our organisation.
